Parking lot demolition involves the removal and disposal of your existing parking surfaces like concrete or asphalt.
Costs vary based on size, material, and whether it’s a simple lot or a multi-layered lot. Our professional demolition services are often needed to ensure safe and efficient removal prior to installation.
Key aspects of parking lot demolition:
Types of Parking Lots:
Demolition can range from simple asphalt or concrete lots. Removing an old, cracked, or unsightly concrete parking lot can quickly improve your property’s value. Replacement is the standard option to renew your unsafe or unsightly parking lot and increase safety for your customers.
Cost Factors:
These common factors that influence the total cost of concrete parking lot removal include:
- Material: Concrete demolition is generally more expensive than asphalt. We inspect the lot to provide the right estimate that is cost-effective for the job.
- Structure: Asphalt or concrete lots require our specialized equipment and safety measures are always adhered to by Sun City Paving
- Disposal: Costs can increase with the need to remove and dispose of large amounts of debris.
- Presence of underground lines or drainage catch basins under the parking lot.
- Size: Larger areas cost more to demolish due to time and labor efforts.
- How deep the parking lot layers are.
- Where the parking lot is located and how accessible it is.
- Whether or not obstacles are present to work around or move.
Safety Considerations:
Safety Zones: We establish clear safety zones around the demolition area as a crucial step.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Demolition crews wear appropriate PPE.
Environmental Concerns: Proper disposal of materials and potential environmental hazards are addressed.
Demolition Methods:
Excavation and Removal: Standard method for most parking lots utilizing Sun City Paving excavators.
Controlled Demolition: More complex projects involving specialized equipment like cranes and tiebacks.
Recycling:
Concrete and asphalt can often be recycled for other construction projects, which can help reduce disposal costs and environmental impact. Sun City Paving always plans on sending our trucks out to recycling plants in our area to assist in reducing environmental impact long-term.
