Handicap lot stencil painting involves applying the universal wheelchair symbol and surrounding markings to designated accessible parking spaces. Sun City Paving’s process ensures compliance with accessibility regulations (like ADA) and improves safety and visibility in parking areas. Proper stencil selection, placement, and paint application are crucial for durability and clear, long-lasting markings.
Key Sun City Paving Process for Parking Lot Stencil Painting:
Stencil Selection:
We choose stencils made from durable materials like LDPE (low-density polyethylene) that can withstand repeated use and varying weather conditions. We also make sure the stencil size and symbol dimensions comply with local regulations and ADA standards.
Surface Preparation:
Our crew cleans your parking area thoroughly, removing any dirt, debris, or loose material that could affect paint adhesion.
Placement and Alignment:
We use a measuring wheel and chalk lines to accurately measure and mark the parking space dimensions. The important part of this step is to center the stencil within the designated area, ensuring proper alignment with existing lines and other markings.
Paint Application:
We use high-quality, durable, and reflective paints designed for pavement marking. Apply paint in controlled bursts to avoid overspray and ensure an even coat. Often, we use a roller or line painter for larger areas and a sprayer for the stencil details.
Finishing Touches:
After the blue background paint dries, we carefully position the handicap stencil and apply the white symbol and surrounding lines. This when the paint overlaps the stencil edges slightly, creates a clean, crisp line.
